Lions serve their communities — it’s at the heart of who we are. There are many ways you can help the South Dakota Lions Foundation ensure that every South Dakotan has access to essential vision care.
Our KIDSIGHT vision screening program is expanding rapidly. In 2026, we expect to screen more than 50,000 children across South Dakota. Trained volunteers visit daycare centers, schools, and community events to provide this vital early‑detection service.
If you’re interested in becoming a KIDSIGHT volunteer, we would love to hear from you. We need dedicated individuals in every region of the state. Training is provided and can be tailored to your location and needs.
Most screenings take place in the mornings at daycares and schools, though some evening and weekend opportunities are available. You do not need to be a Lions Club member to participate — only supportive of our mission to serve. Volunteers must complete a basic background check.
