Your unneeded glasses can change a life

In just about any dresser drawer, one can find a pair of eyeglasses that are no longer being used. That same pair of eyeglasses can change another person's life. Lions of South Dakota collect more than 60,000 pairs of used eyeglasses every year for volunteer missions. Every pair of glasses is inspected for quality, and volunteers clean, sort, and package the glasses. Most of the recycled glasses are distributed to people in need in developing countries where they will have the most impact.

If you have used eyeglasses you no longer need, you can donate them now to your local Lions club. Children's glasses are especially needed. You can drop off your old eyeglasses at Lions sponsored collection boxes in your community. In the Sioux Falls area, all Lewis Drug stores have collection boxes at customer service.  You can also collect glasses at your local business or organization. For more information contact your local Lions club or contact the foundation today!  For a complete list of where to bring your glasses, look at this:  Eyeglass Bucket Collection Sites.pdf
